Djab Bouti (in Somali, literally, ‘conquered beast’) is a possible origin of “Djibouti”, after a legend claiming Issa clansmen slayed a ferocious monster on the spot that is today ‘Djibouti’-ville.
As with our sister blog, Iran in the Gulf, the aim is to post news, opinion and observation that shed light on the political, economic and security current situation in the region.
